3 A.M. arrives quicker than you think. We started out in pitch black.
Unfortunately, we stayed that way.
For 3 hours.
Thanks to that trucker that flashed his lights at me, we found out the dealership reset the auto light setting. They are much brighter when they are turned on! Luck was on our side as we managed to navigate 3 hours of winding rural roads with only parking lights.
Once the sun came up, the landscapes were absolutely beautiful! Driving through the mountain trail made the time fly. The landscape gave way from the hills of Texas to the rocky ridges of new Mexico and then actual mountains in the distance. The smokey clouds gave the mountains a beautiful blue hue.
I would like to do a shout-out to the Petro stopping center in Deming, NM. In the middle of nowhere but they had a Starbucks!
As fate would have it, we drove over 1,000 miles and ended up...at Rudy's. The real Texas Bar-B-Q.
We would like to give a nod to the guys in the back who make the excellent green chili stew - amazing!
It's a good thing our dash delivery pizza order malfunctioned. 733 is ALMOST just like 7333. Oops. We got a better dinner in the end.
